New for 2023. Featured (by-the-glass) at Bar Isabel in Toronto during Canary Island Wine Month.

This dry rosé wine from 100% Listán negro (pronounced lee-STAN neh-gro) grown on hillside vineyards in Valle de La Orotava, at a height of ~600 metres above sea level. These are old vines, planted using the multiple braided cordon system, and the grapes are hand-harvested at ideal ripeness. The grapes are cold macerated (6ºC) for 24 hours prior to fermentation (9 days) in temperature-controlled, stainless steel tanks.

Grapes: Listán negro is the most widely red grape variety planted in the Canaries, particularly Tenerife where it thrives in the Orotava Valley. Unlike other grape varieties that were brought to the Islands from mainland Spain, it is indigenous - a cross between Listán Blanco and Negramoll.

Our Tasting Note: Bright, cherry-pink colour. Highly aromatic, reminiscent of fresh fruits - strawberry, cherry, and blackberry - with slight peppery notes. Smooth, with balancing (lively) acidity, and a clean finish. Alc./vol. 13%. R.S. 1,5 gr./L.

Pairing: Ideal on its own on the patio, but pairs well with Charcuterie, pizza, burgers, and grilled seafood. And a great wine for bbq season.
