Case of 2 bottles.

To celebrate the holidays, we have collaborated with European Quality Foods in Prescott to offer a special 2-bottle box of Tajinaste wines along with a 3-pack of high-quality Galician conservas from Ar de Arte A $136 package, for only $75 (plus HST) for the first 24 customers.

The wine pack contains one bottle of the dry white Blanco Seco, and one bottle of Tinto Tradicional - food-friendly wines that reflect the volcanic soils of the vineyard, the proximity to the Atlantic ocean breezes, and the intensity of grapes grown on old vines, some over a century old.

The gift pack of conservas includes sardines, mussels, and scallops, from the pristine waters off Spain's Galician coast. Grab some lovely bread from Canary Counter , open up a tin or two, and right away you'll be transported to a little Spanish tapas bar without even having to pack a suitcase.

We mention Canary Counter (322 Harbord Street) as that's where you will pick up your purchase if you live in Toronto. We'll send you a message when your order is ready, so please don't go before. This offer is only available through this web site, and not at the store. For customers outside of Toronto, an alternative delivery method will be arranged, and an additional fee might apply.

About the wines:

Wine #1 - 2024 Blanco Seco DOP "Islas Canarias"

A dry white wine made from 100% Listán blanco (pronounced lee-STAN blahn-ko), hand-harvested from hillside vineyards at a height of 250-500 metres above sea level. After fermentation in temperature-controlled, stainless steel tanks, approximately 15% of the wine completes fermentation and aging for ~2 months in new oak (French and American) barrels,  while the rest of the wine remains in stainless-steel tanks. Light fining with bentonite, and filtered. Alc./vol. 13%. R.S. <2 gr./L.

Our Tasting Note: Bright, pale straw yellow colour with greenish hues. Intense aromas reminiscent of grapefruit zest, lemon citrus and pineapple, with herbal/mineral notes.  Crisp, balanced acidity, dry, light- to medium-bodied with a long, clean finish.

Pairing ideas: Great on its own, but it would be very nice with Sushi, seafood, grilled vegetables, white meats, and creamy pasta sauces.

Wine #2 - 2023 Tinto Tradicional DOP "Valle de la Orotava"

Made from 100% Listán negro (pronounced lee-STAN neh-gro) grown on hillside vineyards at a height of 600 metres above sea level. These are old vines - 40% are planted using the multiple braided cordon system, and the remainder on trellis’s. The grapes are cold macerated for 4 days prior to fermentation, and both alcoholic and malolactic fermentations take place in stainless steel tanks. About a third of the wine is aged for two months in American oak barrels. Alc./vol. 13% RS <2 gr./L.

Our Tasting Note: Bright, dark cherry colour, with slight violet hues. Highly aromatic, reminiscent of fresh red fruits - blueberry, cherry, and plum - with peppery/smoky/balsamic notes. Smooth, with balancing acidity, medium tannins, and a clean finish.

Pairing ideas: Charcuterie, tapas, veal, grilled pork, pizza, burgers, medium/hard cheeses.
