Wooden Case of 6 bottles
A Furgoneta is a van, and Sara and León found one abandoned on the family vineyards they were restoring. The name of the wine literally means "the van overlooking the River Órbigo", a river of some significance in the area of the vineyards.
The wine is made from 90% Mencia, 5% Garnacha Tintorera, and 5% Palomino grapes; hand-harvested from low-yielding vines grown on hillside slopes at an altitude of 820-850 metres, with predominantly stony/clay soil. The climate is very dry from Spring to Autumn.
Grapes are destemmed, not crushed, and alcohol fermentation takes place in vertical, French-oak casks of 600L. Malolactic fermentation is in barrels, and the wine is aged for 9 months in 600L French oak barrels - 2nd use in the body and new oak for the tops. 13.5% alc./vol..
Limited production: ~790 bottles.
