Case of 6 (375ml) bottles.
Translated, the name refers to the “landscape of the islands”. As a wine it represents the terroirs and grapes of the Canaries - a collaboration between winegrowers and winemakers, working with small parcels, specific varieties, history, and climate. In particular, this sweet wine is a tribute to the history of winemaking in the Canary islands.
This sweet (Dulce means sweet) white wine is made from 100% Malvasia Aromática, hand-harvested late in September from hillside vineyards (with volcanic soils) at a height of 250-500 metres above sea level. Naturalmente means the grapes are naturally dried on the vines, to concentrate the sugars.
Vinification is in temperature-controlled, stainless-steel tanks, and then the wine is aged for 6 months in 500L French-oak barrels. 16.5% alc./vol. and a luscious 57.7 gr,/L. RS.
Our Tasting Note: Bright, golden yellow colour. Richly aromatic - with notes of honey, dates, and raisins. But pleasantly fresh - not stewed fruit. Luscious, but great balance between the sweetness and acidity with a long, rich finish.
Pairing Suggestions: Serve with a cheese course, and fruit desserts. Could be a good counter to richer foods like foie gras, or even quiche. Serve slightly chilled.
Expert Tastings: This is a new feature on our Web site - short videos of conversations we have with wine professionals about the wines we represent. Here, Nupur Gogia tastes with Joshua Corea of Archive Wine Bar in Toronto.
