Case of 6 bottles.
Check back in July for availability.
A blend of 65% Viura (from 28 year-old vines), 15% Malvasia (form wines more than 68 years of age), 11% Maturna Blanca, and 9% Tempranillo Blanca grapes, carefully hand-picked at harvest. All the vineyards are located in Rioja Alta, except those of Malvasia which are in La Rioja Baja.
The must (initially free-run juice) is filtered after a 2-day cold soak, then slowly fermented at a controlled temperature of 14-15°C. Final fermentation and ageing (on the lees) occurs in new French (70%) and American oak barrels (light toast), with the total duration about 18 months (in the same barrels). After blending, the wine remains in bottle for 6 months before release. Production limited to 23 barrels.
13.64% alc./vol. and 1.2 gr./L residual sugar.
Tasting note: Intense light straw colour with slight greenish tinges. Complex tropical bouquet reminiscent of warm citrus, pineapple, and ripe mango with smoky notes of cinnamon and sweet vanilla spice. Full, dry, and creamy on the palate; balanced with ample acidity and a long, elegant finish.
Menu matches: Pair with bold dishes - seafood, white meats, poultry.
