Vineyards: From grapes grown in Masottina’s own vineyards in the heart of the Piave region. Predominantly hilly of morainic origin. Number of vines per hectare is 3500 to 4000.

Winemaking Process: The first fermentation occurs in temperature-controlled steel vessels, followed by secondary fermentation for one month via the Charmat (tank) method. The resulting pressure is 4.5 bar (at 20?C), resulting in a Spumante (fully sparkling) wine. For comparison, Champagne would be closer to 6-7 bar pressure. Extra Dry means there is under 15 g/l residual sugar in the finished wine, which is barely detectable on the palate.

Tasting Note

Tasting Note: Pale straw yellow colour with persistent perlage. Fully sparkling with rich aromas and flavours of green apples, citrus fruits, and acacia blossoms. Crisp, with just a touch of sweetness on the palate, and a lively clean finish.

Serving Method: Serve at temperature of 6-8° C in flute glasses.

Glera: The grape behind Prosecco


Masottina is a family-run company with vineyards on the sunny hills of Conegliano, based in Castello di Roganzuolo, only 60km from Venice. It produces a wide range of wines typical of the province of Treviso, by using grapes from its own vineyards and sourcing grapes grown in the best areas. Here, brothers Adriano, Valerio and Renzo Dal Bianco produce some of Italy’s best wines, including the Prosecco of Conegliano and Valdobbiadene DOC, and the classic red and white Colli di Conegliano DOC wines: Montesco and Rizzardo.

At every step in the growing and production process, Masottina pays respect to old traditions. Mature grapes are hand harvested and vinified with as little impact to the grapes as possible. The most prestigious red wines are matured in French oak barriques, to express their great love of wine and the extraordinary oenological traditions of the land.

The care and respect for grapes and wines continues at Masottina’s modern headquarters at Castello Roganzuolo, just outside Conegliano, where they employ the most advanced technologies in the production of wine, maturation of important red wines, and in bottling, before their wines are shipped to wine lovers around the world.
