Devil's Pulpit Golf Association
Caledon, Hills of Headwaters Tourism Region
3025 Escarpment Side Road

The Devil's Pulpit Golf Association, founded on February 14, 1988, and developed by Chris Haney and Scott Abbott of Trivial Pursuit fame. Built along the Niagara Escarpment members can play the award-winning course of their choosing: the Devil's Pulpit or the Devil's Paintbrush.

The courses were designed by Dr. Michael Hurdzan and Dana Fry. The Devil's Pulpit course, built on 315 acres, is named for an Indian legend at the nearby Credit River, while the Devil's Paintbrush, on 164 acres three miles east, is named for an indigenous wildflower that grows in abundance on the property.

The Pulpit is a spectacular earth sculpture that pushes the envelope of golf design with its strategic options, multi-tiered fairways and challenging greens. In naming Devil's Pulpit Canada's Best New Course of 1991, Golf Digest said: "It all works as a scenic wonder and as a test of golf."

The Paintbrush has all the features of British links courses including mounding, sod-wall bunkers, rock fences, blind shots and knee-deep fescue rough that billows in the ever-present breezes. It too was honoured by Golf Digest, as Canada's Best New Course for 1992.

Although uncompromising in its standards, the club has a relaxed atmosphere; its professional service and many amenities surpass expectations. A range of dining options are available, from a more relaxed Pub menu at the Paintbruch to more formal service in the dining room at the Pulpit. The Pulpit's Horn Bar has the best view of any golf club in Canada.

A new and exciting wine list has been assembled by sommelier Heather Daly, and features an evolving list of wine-by-the-glass options from around the world.
